THE DÉRIVE SERIES

The installation is based on my photo zine trilogy "The Dérive Series". Each of the small books is dedicated to a place to which I have an emotional connection: my current Wahlheimat Mannheim, the small village in South Germany where I grew up, and Taiwan, a country that has gradually become my home very far away from home.

Based on walking endlessly through three rather different environments, my psychogeographic explorations were led by the question of how a place affects my emotions and thoughts. Each book compiles fragments of the mundane world around me and is rooted in my experiences of terrain, atmosphere, and social landscape.

The installation brings all three places together by juxtaposing parallels and differences in my experiences.
