THE DÉRIVE SERIES

The Dérive Series is a trilogy of small publications about places to which I have an emotional connection: my long-time Wahlheimat Mannheim, the small village in South Germany where I grew up, and Taiwan, a country that has gradually become my home very far away from home. Based on walking endlessly through three rather different environments, my psychogeographic explorations were led by the question of how a place affects my emotions and thoughts. Each book compiles fragments of the mundane world around me and is rooted in my experiences of terrain, atmosphere, and social landscape.

The installation brings all three places together by juxtaposing parallels and differences in my experiences.
